Acquisition of VulkaTec Aken fits well with expansion strategy

On 16 July 2015, Novum Capital and Cologne-based BE Beteiligungen acquired a 75 percent stake in urban and roof greening solution provider, VulkaTec Riebensahm. By virtue of this investment, the consortium of investors also acquired the previously independent company VulkaTec Riebensahm GmbH, Aken (“VulkaTec Aken”).
From six locations to nine
VulkaTec Aken operates three sites: in Aken (Saxony-Anhalt), Berlin, and Hamburg. By combining the activities of both companies, the joint entity will now operate nine locations in Germany, including the existing branches in Kretz near Andernach, Weil am Rhein, Remseck am Neckar, Erlangen, Oldenburg, and Rheine.
The new VulkaTec company will also be undertaking cost-saving measures to standardise and optimise operational processes and create synergies to improve efficiency, especially in the areas of purchasing and logistics. These measures will boost revenue growth and profitability.
