MOTORS takes over Cazoo – to the benefit of used car sellers and buyers

Motors.co.uk Limited (“MOTORS”), operator of the British used car internet portal of the same name and a portfolio company of Novum Capital since 2021, is acquiring the competitor brand “Cazoo”. Cazoo was founded in 2018 and has quickly made its used car portal very well known, particularly in the UK. With effect from 27 June 2024, Cazoo complements the MOTORS network.
The integration of Cazoo into the MOTORS network will bring tangible benefits to commercial and private car sellers and buyers: From the beginning of July 2024, they will be able to use the new Cazoo mobile app, which will give them access to around 250 000 vehicle listings.
Dealers significantly increase their reach within the MOTORS network
MOTORS CEO Barry Judge says: “We are delighted to acquire Cazoo, a very well-known online used car marketplace. This will significantly increase the reach of car sellers and buyers in the UK on the MOTORS network. All dealers already active in MOTORS MultiSite packages will automatically benefit from the additional presence on Cazoo at no cost to them.”
Daniel Ozen, Non-Executive Director of MOTORS and co-investor of Novum Capital, adds: “Car buyers visit an average of four websites when searching for cars. Dealers can now also showcase their vehicles on four leading platforms – motors.co.uk, cazoo.co.uk, gumtree.com and ebay.co.uk – and receive just one invoice. This makes increasing their online visibility and lead generation as straightforward as possible.”
